MacMeter is a parking application that automatically pays for metered street parking in New York City on behalf of its registered users. This policy covers the text messages MacMeter sends to those users.
Only people who have registered for MacMeter and provided their own mobile number at registration. Messages relate solely to that user's own parking sessions and account.
A user's mobile phone number and name, provided by that person during registration, together with the vehicle and parking details needed to operate the service. No information is collected from any purchased list, lead vendor, or other third party.
Mobile phone numbers collected for SMS are never sold, rented, shared, or otherwise disclosed to any third party for any purpose, including marketing. Numbers are used solely to deliver the service notifications described below, and are handled only by MacMeter and by the messaging carrier required to transmit the message.
Transactional service notifications about the user's own parking, including: confirmation that a parking session has been paid and through what time; warnings that a session is about to lapse or could not be renewed; notice that a spending limit has been reached; and alerts when the service cannot reach the parking provider. MacMeter also replies to messages a user sends to this number. No marketing or promotional content is ever sent.
Message frequency varies and depends on how often the user parks and whether any issues arise with their sessions.
Message and data rates may apply, depending on the user's mobile plan.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out of text notifications; no further messages will be sent. Reply HELP for help.
Every MacMeter user is registered directly with the operator and is in direct personal contact with them. Questions, corrections, and requests to stop messages or close an account are handled directly with the operator or by replying to any message from this number.
